The Tannery site, Canterbury (Bellway Homes)

This city centre residential development has been tightly controlled by the city planners. Bellway have designed fenestrations to closely blend in with the local building styles as well as providing continuity of the city wall feature. Walltec applied a variety of wall finishes, including a proprietary render specification to a masonry substrate and a rendered rainscreen to the timber frame substrate complete with raised and dummy window surrounds.

Leven Road, London E14 (Fleming Developments UK)

This very tight site had been a challenge too far for conventional construction. Fleming manufacture their own modular form of construction and realised the vision of modern methods of construction here on this inner city social housing project. Walltec had already perfected the design and method of installing rainscreen cladding to the Fleming units (on previous projects) and achieved another successful and attractive façade package. The rainscreen was installed from mast climbers.

City of London Academy, Hackney (Willmott Dixon Construction)

This complex academy campus involved numerous construction concepts and created challenges for many. Willmott Dixon’s experience ensured that the project was completed to a high standard and on time. Walltec carried out a variety of cladding and associated works which included light gauge steel framing, sheathing, a rail EWI system, rendered rainscreen on helping hand brackets to curved walls, insulation, framing and rendered suspended soffits, and conventional EWI to masonry walls. Much of the cladding was installed using MEWP’s.

St Brides Street, London EC4 (Bowmer & Kirkland)

This project, in the City of London, involved extensive strip out, refurbishment and extensions to form office accommodation. Positive and direct management on site is required for major refurbishment projects, and Bowmer and Kirkland delivered. Walltec, who had worked with the main contractor previously, applied themselves and installed a range of substrate and finishing systems, including hot rolled steelwork, light gauge steel in situ and pre-fabricated elements, sheathing and direct and rail EWI systems. In addition much of the cladding works were carried out with access provided by mechanical cradles.
